Rockwood B188
Rockwood B188 Project
It’s not a Star Wars droid, but a proposed redevelopment in the heart of the Rockwood neighborhood.
This community-focused investment proposes a new school, gym, public plaza for sports and events, workforce training, and small business retail spaces.
You are invited to share your ideas for what should be included in the project.
What about a pet store?
What do you think this development should include, and why?
- How about a florist shop?
- Maybe a community gym with recreation?
- Or a media center? Other retail stores?
We’re listening, Gresham.

About Rockwood B188
Rockwood B188 is a redevelopment project at the former Sunrise Center and Asian Kitchen property. The site is located at the corner of Burnside and SE 188th Avenue. It is next to the 188th MAX station and across the street from Downtown Rockwood.
We are working with a developer on the design and programming phase of this new mixed-use development.
Project purpose
The goal is to bring a new mixed-use development with education, recreation, and a business hub into the center of the Rockwood neighborhood.
The City is constructing it for community ownership, gathering, and participation now and into the future.
This is an investment of the Gresham Redevelopment Commission for the Rockwood-West Gresham Urban Renewal plan. Voters in 2003 established it, and in 2022 they extended it, to improve Rockwood's economy and community.
